Is there a way to fix audio clipping distortion in Final Cut Express 4?
Dual 2 gig G5, Mac OS X (10.5.8)
Restoring clipped audio is very difficult to do, I don't believe there is a method within FCE to do so. If you have Adobe Creative Suite including Adobe Audition, it has a De-Clipping algorithm that works surprisingly well -
Your other option would be to take the audio to a sound studio that has appropriate restoration software, such as CEDAR DeClip.
